This is the White Star, a solid resin kit made by Anubis in the 1990’s with Ron Thorton’s original plans and paint scheme. This particular kit was severely damaged and I rebuilt it and completely repainted the ship by hand.

When building a heavy resin kit like this I had to drill holes in the parts and pin them using brass pins. I used JB Weld two part epoxy for the gluing. For the basic hull gray pattern I airbrushed a dark gray (it was so long ago I don’t remember what paint I used.) I then cut up a fishnet stocking and covered the ship parts, still in sub assemblies, and airbrushed the lighter primary gray on it to create the pattern. I custom mixed purple, pink and blue colors with Tamiya acrylics. Ron Thorton had included paint patterns with the kit and I used them as a guide to accurately reproduce the complex color scheme using Parafilm and small brushes. Hand painting this ship ate up the summer of 2017 lol. I made the custom base with foam board covered in sheet styrene.
